Performing in musicals from an early age, Jen discovered such masters like Cole Porter, Rogers and Hart, and the Gershwin Brothers while she was still in high school. After graduating with an honors degree in performance from Penn State, she moved to New Orleans to further her jazz studies (and drink Hurricanes) before coming to Chicago.
Since her arrival in Chicago, Jen has impressed audiences with her diverse repertoire and arresting voice. The Illinois Entertainer calls her a cross between "the great Anne Ross and Rickie Lee Jones." Over the past seven years, she has performed hundreds of times throughout the area as a solo performer and featured vocalist for several of the city's finest orchestras, as well as performances at Chicago Singer Spotlight and Chick Singer Night. From 2005-2011, she was the featured entertainer every Friday and Saturday in the Palm Court of Chicago's famous Drake Hotel.
As lead singer for the wacky Latin funk band, Samba Bamba, she was featured on Wild Chicago's Emmy Award winning 12th Anniversary show, and has appeared on The Jenny Jones Show, at the Taste of Chicago, Halsted Street Market Days, Taste of Lincoln Avenue, and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
